Q&A with Ethan Oubre
Welcome back to "My Thought Bubble" Newsletter! Okay, so I have never done an interview before. This is the first for me because I get to pretend I am a talk show host for this newsletter. Actually, let me be a talk show really quick LOL.
Welcome to the Joshua Jones show, and I am host for this evening Joshua Jones! This evening, we have a special guest, and I am so excited that he's here. This guy is absolutely incredible, and I met him through the LSU community on Snapchat because I love his work. He is a musician, loves working out, loves to travel, and I can't wait to meet him next month at LSU. Oh & he's dropping his debut album August 1st too, and we're going to talk about it now. Everyone get on your feet and give it up to my good friend ETHAN OUBRE!!! *

Ethan - thank you so much for doing this and taking time out of your busy schedule to do this interview. You know how much I have been up on you about this album.
1. Tell us the inspiration about why you started music? What is your goal?
a. So I’ve had a love for music all of my life, I got my first guitar when I was 3 but didn’t really start taking it seriously until a few years after. My goal since then has always been to make it big enough to sell out a concert, and I want to be able to positively change the lives of people who listen to my music.
2. If you ever had to collaborate with your favorite artist, who would it be and why?
a. If I could collaborate with my favorite artist, it would definitely be The Kid LAROI. His unique style and lyrical genius has had me hooked on his music since middle school. I get a lot of my inspiration from him.
3. Now, let's talk about the album cover because it is gorgeous. What made you decide to do this album cover?
a. So the reason I chose to do that picture for my album is because since I took a lot of inspiration from Laroi’s recent album “The First Time” I wanted them to have similar vibes, and I think I may have accomplished that.
4. What advice would you give to someone who is starting out becoming a musician?
a. My number 1 advice for someone who is trying to start making music is to LEARN HOW TO PRODUCE. Why waste your time in someone else’s studio for them to try to make your ideas when you can take the time to make them yourself?
b. 1. It’s soooo much cheaper
c. 2. It enables you to let your creativity run wild and think of things you wouldn’t normally be able to think about if you didn’t know how to produce
1. Favorite genre of music?
a. My favorite genre of music is indie pop.
2. Something you look forward to returning back to LSU?
a. I can’t wait to go to back to the UREC (University Recreation Center) and Tigerland.
3. Favorite food?
a. My favorite food is definitely either sushi or crawfish.
4. Favorite memory this past year?
a. My favorite memory from the past year is the day I made my song “LOVE?!,” it was in the beginning of freshman year at LSU and is one of the few songs I remember getting butterflies while making it
5. Favorite song off the album?
a. My favorite song off my album is “I’m Still,” it’s one of the most emotional songs I’ve written and is very personal to me.
Well, Ethan - I know this album will be incredible! Thank you so much for the opportunity to interview and chat with me!
